there. I am a senior at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing a Bachelors of Humanities and Arts in Fine Arts and Decision Science. My aim in producing artwork is to encourage viewers to question the social and economic forces that dictate their lives, so that they can critically examine their own thoughts and actions as products of those paradigms. As a brown woman from a semi-rural, predominantly White, Catholic corner of Pennsylvania, I found myself steeped in the cultural traditions of Middle Americans and disturbed by their blissful ignorance; compelled by the glory of the American mythos and repulsed by its hypocritical self. I try to embrace this dissonance by interrogating traditional American/Christian ideals using absurdist tools of humor, controversy, and Unpredictability.
